Whether you are a beginner or an experienced chef, grease buildup on kitchen surfaces is inevitable and will always be your enemy. Luckily, you don’t need to use chemicals like bleach to thoroughly clean your stove.
Grease and food residue is a real headache as not only is it difficult to remove, but you also have to be very careful not to scratch the hob, especially if it is a ceramic hob or tiles.
Below we list some effective tricks with which you can thoroughly clean the hob, removing grease and encrusted food residues, without risking scratching it or endangering our health.
Lemon and bicarbonate
Both ingredients have degreasing and disinfecting properties that can loosen dirt and encrusted food, leaving your cooktop looking like new again.
Mix the juice of 7 lemons with 3 tablespoons of coarse salt and 2 tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate until a smooth, almost creamy mixture is formed.
Apply directly to accumulated dirt on the hob and leave for one minute. Then rub well with a sponge and then wipe with a clean cloth. Repeat the process if necessary.
Hot water, soap and lemon
Dish soap has wonderful degreasing properties, while lemon helps disinfect. To remove grease and encrusted residue on ceramic or tile surfaces, this solution is undoubtedly the most suitable.
Heat some water, then add the juice of a lemon and a few drops of liquid soap.
Dip a sponge into the solution and thoroughly scrub the entire surface of the cooktop. Fat and food residues can be removed very easily.
Finally, remove soap residue and dirt with a damp cloth.
