Instructions

1. Preparing the Sponge Cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
  3. Gently fold in the sifted flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing it horizontally into two layers.

2. Making the Whipped Cream Filling:

  1. In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  2. Spread a generous layer of whipped cream over the bottom half of the sponge.
  3. Place the top half of the sponge over the cream layer.
