1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup strawberry jam
Crackers or sliced baguette, for serving
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth and well combined.
Add garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to the cheese mixture. Stir until the spices are evenly distributed.
Fold in half of the chopped pecans into the cheese mixture.
Shape the cheese mixture into a ring on a serving platter, leaving a hole in the center for the jam.
Press the remaining chopped pecans onto the outside of the cheese ring, ensuring they adhere well.
Spoon the strawberry jam into the center of the cheese ring.
Chill the cheese ring in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve with crackers or sliced baguette.
Variations & Tips
For a different flavor profile, try using apricot or raspberry jam instead of strawberry. You can also experiment with different types of nuts, such as walnuts or almonds, for a unique twist. If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch more cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture. For a more festive presentation, garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or chives.
