There are several methods for removing rust stains from surfaces. Good old grandmother’s tricks often prove effective. However, sometimes the use of cleaning products is required, especially when the stains persist.
1 – AGAINST RUST ON PORCELAIN
To remove rust from the toilet bowl, pour a can of coke in it and leave it to act overnight. The next day, scrub the bowl with an old toilet brush, then rinse.
To remove rust from the sink, mix borax and lemon juice to make a smooth paste. Spread it on the stain, then scrub gently with an old toothbrush. Repeat the operation as many times as necessary.
2 – AGAINST RUST ON PLASTIC
This method is not very ecological but it is particularly effective: remove the rust stain with a cloth soaked in hydrochloric acid. You can also try with ether or methylated spirits (be careful with your hands and eyes because these solutions are quite corrosive).
3 – AGAINST RUST ON GLASS
