PREPARATION:
1st Step
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and turn it on. Grease and set aside a 9×13-inch baking pan.
2nd Step
Melt the 1 cup of butter over low heat in a medium-sized pot. Once it has melted, take it off the heat and stir in the sugar until it is well mixed.
3rd Step
Beat in the eggs one by one, making sure that each one is fully mixed in before adding the next. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
4th Step
Sift the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt together in a separate bowl. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients while stirring until they are just mixed. Be careful not to mix the batter too much; you want it to be smooth.
5th Step
Spread the cookie batter out evenly in the pan that has been greased. Bake in an oven that has already been warm for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick put in the middle comes out with a few moist bits. Lunchroom Ladies Brownies are known for their fudgy texture, so be careful not to bake them too long.
6th Step
Melt the 1/4 cup of butter in a pot over low heat. Mix in the milk and cocoa powder until everything is smooth and well-mixed. Take it off the heat and whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the frosting is thick and creamy.
